It’s a brew-tiful day for coffee lovers, as ALDI is dropping not one, but two brand new coffees – and they’ve been recognised with top honours at the Golden Bean Awards Australasia.
The new Lazzio Luxe Reserve Nicaragua has taken out Gold in the Espresso – Large Chain category, making an award winning debut as it hits ALDI shelves nationwide. Joining the Gold medal winner is Lazzio Luxe Reserve Guatemala, which has also made its mark by taking home Bronze in the Milk – Large Chain category. Both premium single origin coffees will be available from 23 September for just $17.99/500g bag or just 36 cents a cup* – proving you don’t need to pay a latte for an award winning brew.
The Golden Bean Awards Australasia is the region’s premier coffee roasting competition, bringing together roasters from across Australia, New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region to compete across categories including Espresso, Milk-Based and Filter. Coffees are judged blind by industry professionals, with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals recognising roasting excellence, while top performing roasters can progress to the Golden Bean World Series and compete for the title of World’s Best Coffee Roaster.
ALDI is no stranger to Golden Bean recognition, having previously won the Overall Large Chain Champion title at the Golden Bean Awards Australasia in 2025, 2024, 2022, 2021, 2020 and 2019, as well as Large Chain Champion at the Golden Bean World Series in 2024.

Coffee lovers can explore two distinctive flavour profiles in the new Luxe Reserve range, with beans grown in the regions they’re named after. The Lazzio Luxe Reserve Nicaragua delivers a smooth, medium-roast cup with notes of citrus, caramel and cocoa, balanced by a pleasant acidity and lingering finish. Ideal for both espresso and filter brewing, it’s a well-rounded choice for those who enjoy a harmonious mix of sweetness, brightness and depth.
For a richer, more indulgent cup, the Lazzio Luxe Reserve Guatemala offers a smooth, medium-roast profile with notes of dark chocolate, toasted almond, caramel and stone fruit. Its pleasant fruit acidity adds a subtle lift to the chocolate-forward flavour, making it a great choice for coffee drinkers who prefer richness with a touch of fruit.
