The results are in, and it’s official: ALDI Australia is Australia’s #1 supermarket for the sixth year running! 

At a time when the broader community is feeling the pinch from the rising cost of living, this award win demonstrates customers don’t have to pick between quality and affordability when they shop at ALDI. The proof really is in the points (and stars) for Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers Award, as ALDI remains dedicated to never being beaten on the cost of the weekly shop.  

Not only did ALDI score five-stars this year in the price-based categories of value for money and deals & specials, but also in categories related to delivering top notch quality to Aussie shoppers including produce freshness and quality of exclusive branded products. 

Price has become even more critical in the last 12 months which has led to shoppers increasingly making the switch to ALDI, with recent data showing more Aussies are shopping at ALDI stores more often and by doing so, they were able to share in an annual saving of $3.1 billion delivered directly to ALDI customers in 2022.  

Simon Padovani-Ginies, Group Director, ALDI Australia says ALDI is proud to have maintained its leadership and satisfaction for customers at a time when they need it the most, confirming that ALDI won’t be beaten on the cost of the weekly shop.

Canstar Blue editor-in-chief Christine Seib said value for money is the number one priority for Australian families right now.  

“Australian shoppers certainly think that the ALDI difference is good – ALDI has won Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers award for Supermarkets for the sixth consecutive year! ALDI took out the 2023 title with five-star ratings from consumers for the value for money and deals and specials it offers, the freshness of its produce, the quality of its own-branded products and in the all-important overall shopper satisfaction category. ALDI also improved its customer service score to four stars this year, up from three stars in 2022, Ms Seib said. 

“In an environment where higher costs of living are putting pressure on households’ budgets, ALDI’s combination of value, specials, freshness and quality is hard to beat,” MS Seib concluded. 

This is ALDI’s eleventh win since the Canstar’s Supermarket Satisfaction Ratings began in 2011. ALDI has previously won Canstar’s “most satisfied customers” award in 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2012, and 2011.
